Antonio Vivaldi
Italian composer, Vivaldi (1678-1741) is recognised as one of the greatest Baroque composers. He was also a respected violinist and teacher. Vivaldi composed an array of music including several over 500 violin concertos, and numerous flute concerti. He also wrote concerti for viola, cello, mandolin, trumpet, oboe and bassoon as well as several other instrumental works, sacred choral works and over forty operas.
