During the Romantic era, the arrangement of well-known compositions for two flutes gained significant popularity. This allowed contemporary works to be performed in intimate salon settings and within the comfort of one’s home. Prominent figures such as Giuseppe Gariboldi, Kaspar Kummer, and Ernesto Köhler undertook the task of adapting folk songs, opera arias, piano pieces, and concert works for this purpose.
In this edition, Elisabeth Weinzierl and Edmund Wächter have thoughtfully curated and arranged a collection of the most exquisite and widely recognised melodies, ensuring their accessibility even to musicians with limited experience.
