Parfrey Lyric Moment-Alto Flute and Piano-Emerson Edition

Raymond Parfrey was born on May 6th, 1928 in Harrow, Middlesex, and later spent 5 years as a choirboy at Durham Cathedral. After leaving school he was conscripted into the Army and served with the R.A.S.C. in Egypt. In 1965 he entered Trent Park College (Middlesex Polytechnic) as a mature student, and has studied composition at various times with Alan Bush, Franz Reizenstein and Geoffrey Winters. Since then he has divided his time between composing piano, playing and teaching, and graphic work for music publishers. Lyric Moment was the first piece published by Emerson Edition, appearing in 1972. Raymond Parfrey died on March 12th 2008.
