Nielsen The Fog is Lifting Opus 41-Flute and Piano or Harp-Wilhelm Hansen
Carl Nielsen was a Danish musician, conductor and also violinist, widely recognized as his country’s most prominent composer. He wrote an array of chamber music, symphonies, operas and concertos, including one for flute. ‘The Fog is Lifting’ is from Nielsen’s incidental music, Moderen. Accompanying text is written by Helge Rode. Rode’s fairy-tale play tells the story about the return of a kidnapped son. The fog is lifting accompanies the first scene in which the King sees a mother parting from her son through the rising fog. The most known of the pieces. The last piece is the flute solo from Aladdin.
