Mozart/Donjon Cadenzas for Flute Concerto in D Major KV314-Leduc

Mozart/Donjon Cadenzas for Flute Concerto in D Major KV314-Leduc All three movements contain a cadenza which initially would have been left for the performer to improvise. However, cadenzas have since been written, including those of Johannes Donjon (1839-1912). Donjon was a prominent flautist of his time and his understanding of Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D is second to none, making his cadenzas well-informed and essential to performers of the concerto. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg 1756 and was a hugely influential composer of the Classical era. He began composing music at the aged of 5 and was a child prodigy. He was also extremely competent on keyboard and violin.  He composed over 600 works including symphonies, chamber works, operas, keyboard works amongst a huge array of other works. Mozart composed works for flute including a concerto for flute and harp, a concerto in G Major and D Major, Andante in C and flute & string quartets.
