Koechlin Quatorze Pieces-Flute and Piano-Salabert (Koechlin 14 Pieces) Charles Koechlin (1867-1950), was a French composer, teacher and writer on music. Koechlin initially had private lessons with Charles Lefebvre. In 1890, he began studying at the Paris Conservatoire with Antoine Taudou, Massenet, André Gedalge and Louis Bourgault-Ducoudray. From 1896 he began his studies with Gabriel Faure. In 1927, Koechlin wrote the first Fauré biography. In 1898 he then orchestrated Fauré’s Pelléas et Mélisande suite and assisted Fauré in the production of his work ‘Promethée’. Post graduation, Koechlin became a freelance composer and teacher and wrote an array of works in numerous styles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mje1RrLcJWo
