Geraedts Sonatina-Flute and Piano-Donemus Music Geraedts Sonatina for Flute & Piano was written in 1953, and is the most known of Geraedts works for flute. This captivating piece of music fits lovingly into any concert repertoire. It’s easy to listen to and enjoyable to play. 3 movements makes up this sonatine, Allegro Giocosso, Poco Lento and also Vivace. A joyous first movement leads into a mysterious and hypnotic flute solo to begin the second movement. The final movement shows off the skills of the flautist with a delicate humorous ending delightfully bringing the piece to a close. Jaap Geraedts was a Dutch composer and flutist . He began with music lessons from his father, later studying at the The Royal Conservatory in The Hague and Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussel. Geraedts saw himself primarily as a composer. He wrote mainly works for choir, but also for symphony orchestra, songs and chamber music.
