Feld Concerto-Flute and Piano Reduction-Barenreiter Praha (Originally for flute and string orchestra, harp, piano and percussion)
Jindrich Feld’s popular flute concerto was composed in 1954 in collaboration with Czech Philharmonic flautist, Lutobor Hlavsa. The orchestra arrangement was composed for solo flute accompanied by strings, piano, harp and percussion. The piano part of the concerto was prepared by the composer himself.
Jindřich Feld (1925-2007) was born in Prague to a musical family and studied violin, viola and composition. He later furthered his composition studies at the Prague Conservatory and Academy of Music (HAMU). His father was a well-respected professor of violin at the Prague Conservatory and his mother was also a violinist.
