French composer, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755) composed over 100 instrumental and vocal works. In particular, he wrote numerous works for the flute as well as a concerto for cello, viol or bassoon. In 1723, he moved to Paris and one year later was given the royal privilege as engraver. In consequence, he began publishing his own works.
