Repairs

We have an in-house workshop, run by an experienced and very well respected repairer, Mark Bishop.

In 1979,  All Flutes Plus began life centred on its workshops and the unique flute repair service offered by its technicians. More than 30 years on we have stayed in touch with our roots. Repairs and servicing remain a key part of our business. Our fully equipped workshop and highly trained specialist technicians ensure that we provide an efficient and professional service that is second to none. We endeavour to fit in emergency repairs on the spot but, to avoid disappointment, please call to let us know you are coming in. We strongly recommend you book servicing in advance.

At All Flutes Plus, we offer three levels of repairs to suit your needs:

  • Good Playing Order (G.P.O) – A quick check and adjustment to keep your flute in playable condition.
  • Servicing – A more thorough inspection and maintenance to ensure your flute is performing at its best.
  • Full Repad/Overhaul – A complete rebuild, including replacing pads and addressing any deeper issues to bring your flute back to peak performance.

 Good Playing Order (G.P.O)
If your flute is not working as expected, we are here to assess it and make non-invasive mechanical adjustments if needed. Keep in mind that a G.P.O is not a fix-all solution. Your flute may require a full service or overhaul for optimal performance.

Servicing

Full Repad/Overhaul

If the pads on your flute are ripped, dry, or lumpy, a service won't be thorough enough to get your flute playing its best.

Consider getting your flute a full repad/overhaul every 5-10 years based on how much it's played.

If you have a flute that has been stored away for many years and you're looking to start playing again, it probably needs a complete repad/overhaul.

We do have flutes available for short term hire. You can find out more here.

We receive flutes by post on a daily basis. You are welcome to use any courier of your choice, though we recommend using a trackable service for peace of mind.

We also suggest ensuring your flute is covered by musical instrument insurance — we recommend New Moon Insurance.

When we send flutes, we typically use Royal Mail Special Delivery or DHL.

If you are posting your flute to us, please include a covering letter with your contact details and any relevant information. This helps us identify your flute when it arrives.
