He pursued his musical education at Liverpool University, Leeds (Bretton Hall College), London Goldsmith’s College, and the University of Surrey, specialising in composition. In 1977, Wiggins was honoured with the Allsop Prize for composition at Liverpool, and later in 1991, he received the Wangford Composers’ Prize.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince 1976, he has taught violin, viola, music theory, and composition. He taught in Germany between 1995 and 2005 and has since been a freelance teacher. Besides teaching, Christopher Wiggins serves as a music composition and performance examiner for the British Examination Board and the International Baccalaureate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis music has enjoyed international recognition, being performed in over 30 countries worldwide and broadcasted in five. Wiggins boasts an impressive repertoire, which includes compositions for choral, orchestral, chamber, solo, and educational pieces. Notably, he has crafted three String Quartets (Opp. 1, 89 \u0026amp; 106) among his chamber works. One of his significant contributions, comprising over 30 pieces, is dedicated to the horn\/horn ensemble, garnering widespread performances, particularly in the USA. His compositions are published in the UK, the USA, and the Netherlands.
