She began making professional recordings at the age of fourteen and has since received commissions from ensembles including the Takács Quartet, Da Capo Chamber Players and the Vermont Symphony.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTan studied at Bennington College, The Juilliard School and Princeton University, where she completed a PhD.
