His father, Paul Schocker, was a multi-talented instrumentalist and composer as well. Gary’s nursery shared a wall with his father’s studio, so music was heard around the clock. As a result, music has always felt as much a part of him as breathing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe flute came into his life at age 10, and by the time he was 15, he had performed as a soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic, the latter in a nationally televised Young Peoples’ Concert. He attended The Juilliard School and subsequently won many competitions.
