He toured Europe and played in the Münster Court Orchestra. His cousin was a cellist and composer, Bernhard Romberg.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1790, Romberg joined the court orchestra in Bonn, led by Kapellmeister Andrea Luchesi, where he met Beethoven. He moved to Hamburg in 1793, joining the opera orchestra. His first opera, Der Rabe, debuted in 1794, and he also composed his version of Messiah (Der Messias).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter time in Paris, he returned to Hamburg, becoming a key figure in its music scene.
