He studied with Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann and Liszt and became a highly respected and influential musician of his time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom 1846-1848, Reinecke was Court Pianist for Christian VIII in Copenhagen. In 1851, he became a professor at the Cologne Conservatory and later Academic, Musical director and conductor of the Singakademie at Breslau. From 1860-1895, Reinecke was Director of the Gewandhaus Orchestra concerts in Leipzig.
