This composition is an accompanied canon, initially written for three violins and basso continuo, and it is accompanied by a gigue, collectively known as Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo. Both parts of this piece are set in the key of D major. While functioning as a genuine canon with three voices in unison, it also incorporates elements of a chaconne. Unfortunately, the exact date and circumstances of its composition remain unknown, with suggested dates ranging from 1680 to 1706. The oldest surviving manuscript copy of the Canon dates back to the period from 1838 to 1842.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"All Flutes Plus","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":59145482502478,"sku":"F 680-401","price":13.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0885\/5335\/7646\/files\/images_1_94b3c5d5-d6bb-4538-9138-b5d08706bcf7.jpg?v=1773496971","url":"https:\/\/www.allflutesplus.com\/products\/pachebel-canon-for-flute-and-piano-fentone","provider":"All Flutes Plus","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
