He began composing music at the age of 5 and was a child prodigy. Mozart was also extremely competent on the keyboard and violin.  He composed over 600 works including symphonies, chamber works, operas, and keyboard works amongst a huge array of other works.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eJean-Pierre-Rampal-Flautist\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJean-Pierre Rampal (1922-2000) renowned French flautist toured internationally, recorded a vast array of works involving the flute and in later years, took up conducting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRampal won a place to study at the Paris Conservatoire and later founded the French Wind Quintet before becoming Principal Flute of the Paris Opéra (1956–62). In 1968 he took up the post of Flute Professor at the Paris Conservatoire.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe enhanced the status of the flute as a concert instrument through his vast number of recordings from Baroque masterpieces to jazz.
