He received recognition for his cantata Mélusine when he won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1896. Additionally, he was honoured with the Prix Trémont in 1905 and the Prix Chartier in 1907 for his chamber music.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1913, Mouquet became a professor of harmony at the Paris Conservatoire and wrote a Cours complémentaire d’harmonie.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMost of Mouquet’s compositions are for wind instruments such as the flute, oboe, clarinet, and saxophone. His best-known work is the symphonic poem La Flûte de Pan op. 15, composed for flute and orchestra. He also wrote oratorios, including Le Sacrifice d’Isaac and Le Jugement.
