Almost 60 years later during a visit to Potsdam, he remembered the Prussian troops’ invasion of Brno and, with this in mind, wrote a chamber music miniature with a military element. He also wrote a number of works including choral, chamber, instrumental and orchestral works amongst other pieces.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom 1881-1888, he directed the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and became a professor of composition at the Prague Conservatory in 1919.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe was deeply inspired by folk music.
