By the 1780s, Hoffmeister had become one of Vienna’s most sought-after composers, earning acclaim for his diverse and extensive catalogue of works.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe composed a vast array of music including eight operas, over 50 symphonies, numerous concertos, string chamber music, piano music and several songs. Hoffmesiter also wrote more than 25 concertos for flute as well as chamber works with the flute in a leading role.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile Hoffmeister’s compositions gained recognition, his most lasting impact on the music world came through his activities as a music publisher. In 1785, he established one of Vienna’s earliest music publishing businesses, positioning it as a significant competitor to Artaria \u0026amp; Co. He not only published his own compositions but also showcased the works of renowned composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Clementi, and others.
