It is great for players who aim towards virtuosity. Considered as a maestro by some musicians, Marcel Moyse has composed many flute methods and exercise books which are also published by Alphonse Leduc, such as Gammes et Arpèges (1933), Exercices Journaliers (1922) and Mécanisme-Chromatisme (1927). He was one of the leading flute players of the early nineteenth century and became especially associated with the Dresden court orchestra, where he worked alongside important musicians of the Romantic period. Fürstenau wrote many works for flute, including concertos, duets, chamber music and études, and his music is valued for combining expressive melodic writing with technical development. His studies remain useful for flautists working on tone, articulation, phrasing, finger technique and musical style, especially within the classical and early Romantic flute tradition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eAbout Marcel Moyse\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLegendary French flautist and teacher, Marcel Moyse (1889-1984) was one of the most influential flute players of the 20th Century. During 1910-1949 he was a highly respected orchestral\/solo player and recording artist. He also taught at the Paris and Geneva Conservatoires from 1930 until World War II. In 1949, he emigrated to the USA and gave several flute masterclasses from his home in Brattleboro as well as in Switzerland and the UK.  He continued to teach and inspire a huge number of flautists right up until his death in 1984. He was also one of the founders of the Marlboro Music Festival.
