These songs were composed between 1870 and 1877 and later published as a set in 1878.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eGabriel Fauré\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFauré (1845-1924) was a French Romantic composer, organist, pianist and teacher. He is regarded as one of the foremost French composers of his generation and his musical style has influenced many 20th-century composers. Faure studied piano with Camille Saint-Saëns. In 1896, he was appointed organist at the church of La Madeleine in Paris and became a Professor of Composition at the Paris Conservatoire.
