C.P.E. Bach also had an enviable reputation as a performer and teacher.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe composed a vast number of works including concerti, symphonies, chamber music, songs, religious music and organ works amongst others.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1740 he was appointed harpsichordist to Frederick II of Prussia. In 1968 he took up the post of Flute Professor at the Paris Conservatoire.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe enhanced the status of the flute as a concert instrument through his vast number of recordings from Baroque masterpieces to jazz.
