Born in 1810 near Warsaw, he showed exceptional musical talent from a young age and later settled in Paris, where he became one of the most admired musicians of his generation. Almost all of Chopin’s compositions involve the piano, including nocturnes, études, preludes, mazurkas, polonaises, waltzes, scherzos and ballades. His music is admired for its lyrical melodies, delicate ornamentation, rich harmonies and deep emotional character. Chopin had a lasting influence on piano writing, combining technical brilliance with elegance, sensitivity and a distinctive national style inspired by Polish dance forms.

About Marcel Moyse

Legendary French flautist and teacher, Marcel Moyse (1889-1984) was one of the most influential flute players of the 20th Century.
