He began his musical journey at the Cincinnati Conservatoire of Music under Ary van Leeuwen. Cavally furthered his studies at The Paris Conservatoire of Music, where he studied with renowned flautists Marcel Moyse and Philippe Gaubert. Although offered a position with the Paris Opera Orchestra, Cavally declined in order to retain his United States citizenship and returned to Cincinnati.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThroughout his career, Cavally made significant contributions to music education. He taught flute and led woodwind ensembles at the Cincinnati College-Conservatoire of Music from 1938 to 1979, retiring as Professor Emeritus of Flute.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAdditionally, Cavally had a successful performance career.
