He achieved acclaim for his film scores and was widely recognised for his solo and collaborative work as a jazz musician.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and with renowned composer Pierre Boulez in Paris. Returning to England, Bennett emerged as a versatile avant-garde composer, producing a diverse range of compositions, including chamber, vocal, choral, orchestral, and film music. Bennett (1936-2012) wrote over two hundred works for the concert hall, an abundance of jazz songs and fifty scores for film and television amongst others.
