Alan Ridout-Composer
British composer (1934-1996) Alan Ridout studied at the Royal College of Music, London with Herbert Howells and Gordon Jacob. He was also taught by Michael Tippett, Peter Fricker and Henk Badings.
He later taught at the Royal College of Music, the University of Birmingham, the University of Cambridge, the University of London, and The King’s School, Canterbury.
His compositional output includes church, orchestral and chamber music in a mostly tonal style.
