Leroux Deux Romances-Flute and Piano-Leduc (Premiere Romance en La Mineur / 1st Romance in A Minor / Dedicated to Phillipe Gaubert) Xavier Leroux (1863-1919) was a French composer who studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Jules Massenet and Théodore Dubois. His first Romance in A minor is dedicated to Philippe Gaubert* and is suitable for advanced flautists.
*French musician, Philippe Gaubert was a distinguished flautist, respected conductor, and also a composer, primarily for the flute. He held a prominent career as a flautist with the Paris Opéra, and later established himself as: Professor of flute at the Conservatoire de Paris (professor of Marcel Moyse), Principal conductor of the Paris Opéra and Principal conductor of the Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire.
